For the admissions to postgraduate level medical programs offered by the medical colleges in the state Gujarat, Gujarat University conducts an entrance exam called the Gujarat PG medical entrance exam. The Gujarat PG Medical entrance exam for the admissions to the academic year 2015 will be paper-pencil based exam which will be conducted on 25th January 2015.

The selection of candidates for the MD and MS seats in the medical colleges located in Gujarat will be done through the Gujarat PG Medical Entrance Exam which will be conducted by the Gujarat University. 50% of the MD and MS seats offered by the state medical colleges will be done through the Gujarat PG Medical exam and the admission to the rest 50% seats will be done through AIPGMEE 2015.

The candidates who want to apply for this examination must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the MBBS degree from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) located in Gujarat. The candidates who’ve passed MBBS from colleges located outside Gujarat must produce a provisional eligibility certificate. At the time of counseling, the candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship.

The candidates can get the application forms from the office of the Gujarat University (co-operative stores, behind University Library, near Samaj Vidya Bhawan, University Campus). The application forms will cost INR 1000/- per programme. The candidates have to submit the completely filled application forms along with the entrance examination receipt of INR 3000 at the Gujarat University Office. a receipt will be issued to the candidates on the submission of application forms.

The names of the eligible candidates to appear for the examination along with the examination centers allotted to them will be declared on 20th January 2015.

The declaration of the Gujarat PG Medical Entrance examination will be done in the months of March and April 2015. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam.

The selection of the candidates for the MS and MD courses offered by the medical colleges located in the state of Gujarat will be done through two exams. The admissions to 50% of the state quota MD/MS seats will be done though AIPGMEE 2015 and the admission to the rest 50% will be done through the Gujarat PG Medical exam.

For the 50% state quota seats, the candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Gujarat PG Medical exam. A merit list will be created on the basis of the scores secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. The ranks obtained by the candidates will be the basis on which the candidates will be called for the counseling process and the final allotment of seats.
