The Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Odisha, has announced that the admission to the MBBS and BDS programs offered by the medical and dental colleges in Odisha will be done through the AIPMT 2015 exam.

The candidates wishing to pursue MBBS and BDS courses offered by the medical and dental colleges in Odisha must appear for the AIPMT 2015 exam. The candidates will have to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the AIPMT 2015 to appear for the exam.
The aspiring candidates for this examination must have passed XII board examinations and must have also studied Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology. The candidates applying for the exam must have scored an aggregate of not less than 50%, the candidates belonging to the reserved categories should score above 40% marks. The candidates who are studying in XII are also eligible to apply for the examination. The candidates applying to appear for the examination must have attained 17 years as on 31st December 2015 and must not be more than 25 years as on 31st December 2015, the candidates who belong to the reserved categories have a relaxation of 5 years.
The syllabus prescribed by the CBSE will be the basis of the questions in the AIPMT exam. A total of 180 questions will be present in the question. The whole question paper carries 720 marks. The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The duration of the whole paper will be 3 hours. There will be four sections which are Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology and each section will consist of 45 multiple choice questions.
The submission of applications can only be done through online mode. The payment of the application fee must also be made by the candidates and can be done through Debit/Credit Card/Challan along with Service Tax as applicable.
The candidates must visit the official website to download the admit card which shall be available since 1st April 2015. The information regarding the date, time and venue and all the other exam related information will be mentioned on the admit card.
The selection of candidates will be based on the performance of the candidates in the AIPMT 2015 entrance exam. The Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Odisha, will create a merit list containing the names of eligible candidates. The candidates will be called in for counseling and interview for the 85% state quota MBBS/BDS seats on the basis of the ranks obtained by them in the merit list.
