The Directorate of Medical Education, Tripura, conducts a state level entrance examination called the Tripura Post Graduate Medical Admission Test (Tripura PG MAT) to facilitate the admission procedure to various postgraduate medical programs offered at Agartala Government Medical College.

The candidates who want to apply for this examination must have passed MBBS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship as on 31st March 2015. A permanent/provisional registration certificate must also be obtained by the candidates from the MCI or any State Medical council. The upper age limit for the candidates applying for the TPGMAT 2015 exam is 45 years (40 years for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories)

The TPGMAT 2015 exam paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions which have to be completed in 120 minutes (2 hours).  The medium of the question paper will be English. The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and no negative marking will be done in this examination for wrong answers.  Half of the questions will be from Pre and Para-Clinical subjects and the other half questions will be based on Clinical subjects.

The submission of the application forms for the TPGMAT 2015 will begin from 29th December 2014. The candidates can get the application forms by visiting the official website. The candidates must also make the payment for the application form through a Bank draft of INR 500 which must be attached with the duly filled application form.

The cost of the TPGMAT 2015 Application form is INR 500, the fee for the entrance exam is INR 2500 and the Counseling fee is INR 1000.

The selection of candidates will be based on the performance of the candidates in the TGPMAT2015 entrance exam. The Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Tripura, will create a merit list containing the names eligible candidates. The candidates will be called in for counseling on the basis of the ranks obtained by them in the merit list. The merit list will be put on the notice board of DME/AGMC.
