To facilitate the admission process to MCA course offered at the colleges in West Bengal, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJCEEB) conducts an entrance exam called the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam MCA (WB JECA MCA)
The selection of candidates for the MCA course offered at the private, government and government aided engineering colleges and institutes and Universities located in West Bengal, is done through the WB JECA MCA exam.

The candidates wishing to pursue MCA offered by the engineering colleges in the state of West Bengal must have a graduation degree from a recognized Institution/University. The candidates applying for this entrance exam must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject till higher secondary level. The candidates must also have scored an aggregate of not less than 45% marks (40% marks is the minimum marks for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories).
The WB JECA MCA exam will have two parts consisting of multiple choice questions. The first part will consist of questions which will evaluate candidate’s aptitude and the second part will consist of questions from Mathematics. The whole paper will carry 200 marks (100 marks for each part). The candidates will be given 1 hour to attempt the first part and 1 and a half hour to attempt the second part.

The admit cards containing the details like the candidate’s name, roll number, and other examination related information will be made available online
The candidates will be selected on basis of their performance in the entrance exam. A merit list will be created on the basis of the scores secured by the candidates in the entrance exam for various courses. The ranks obtained by the candidates will be the basis on which the candidates will be called for the counseling process and the final allotment of seats.
